Pray in Faith

Prayer is our communication with the Lord. Communication has purpose, and the purpose determines the mode and details to be effective. As a believer in Christ you must recognize prayer as a privilege and honour. Every moment of prayer is an investment in eternity. Your fellowship is with the Father and with his son Jesus Christ by the help of Holy Spirit.

“Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, Move from here to there, and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you” – Mathew 17:21.

Faith is one of the outstanding virtues which distinguish a believer from an unbeliever. An unbeliever may be a Christian, name sake Christian. A believer’s walk with God is a walk of faith. “And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him” – Hebrews 11:6. Same way, for prayer when you believe in faith that the God who created everything is able to give you what you asked, the prayer will be answered. “Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours” – Mark 11: 24.

If you are having any problems in your life, pray to God in belief that he can make a way from nowhere. If your finances are down, you are affected with deadly disease, believe that the God whom you are praying to is able to give you deliverance from the problem. Pray continually about the problem, read the word of God. If you find in the scripture that promises deliverance, believe in faith that your problem is solved, and stick unto that belief. Whatever doubts the devil brings to your mind, cast it away and stick on the faith and believe that you are delivered. See how miracle works in your life.

Abraham did the same, when was told he will have a son when he was aged, when God asked him to sacrifice his only son. Finally he was blessed above all and his descendants were blessed above all. Christians consider Abraham as their father of faith.

God wants us to have the same faith and belief to inherit the blessings he gave to his faithful son Abraham.

Live for Christ

The heading Live for Christ does not mean to work full time for Christ alone. It does mean that with your regular Job, you can live and work for Christ also. Living for Christ does not mean that you have to work with files and books. It simply means to show to the world about the love and character of Christ through your life.

You can find some points through which you can live in Christ

Patience is one of the characters which should be shown in your life when you live for Christ. It is also one of the fruits of Holy Spirit which is developed in you when you accept Christ as your personal saviour. You need to show patience in everything in daily life so that the world will see your patience and will take a step to know about it and in the way can be leaded to Christ. “Be patient with each other, making allowance for each other’s faults because of your love” – Ephesians 4:2.

Humbleness should be the basic character in a Christ centred life. Jesus Christ, the Lord left his heavenly honour and came to the earth to lead a life according to the law and became an ultimate sacrifice for the man kind. He himself led a life with humbleness. He was so humble that when the enemies tried to kill him, he stood there without doing anything, which he could have done as he is God. When the enemy comes against you, be humble and show patience in your daily life. God who created you and the heavens and Earth is seeing you from above and he will know your heart and show you the results at his appointed time.

Love is the main character a follower of Jesus should have as Jesus is Love. Love covers all the characters Jesus had as it also covers patience and humbleness. So Love is the major character you should have in your life, the love for God and the love for other mankind. When you love others, you will have the compassion to know about their problems and pray for them so that they can also experience the love of Christ in their life. Love is one of the fruits of Holy Spirit also.

When people turn against you, it is difficult to love them and show patience and humbleness. To overcome this problem, the one good thing you need to do is work hard on what you are doing. If you are in a secular job, work hard so that you will earn results with the help of God and people can recognize you. Do your work, not bothering about what men points against you, be holy, and pray for yourself to be humble, having patience and love and pray for others.

It is difficult to live a life that of Jesus, to have patience, humbleness and with love. But pray hard, work hard, and see how the Holy Spirit helps you to live a life of Christ. God bless you.

The Promise Kept

In the Holy Bible you can see the Almighty God blessing Abraham. “Abraham will surely become a great and powerful nation, and all nations on earth will be blessed through him” – Genesis 18: 18. Usually when a priest comes for praying, he uses to include this verse in prayer for us. But the blessings from the mighty God remains perfect and no one can overcome it. Now after almost 3000 years after the blessings, you can see how the world is blessed through the descendants of Abraham.

 

Was Abraham an Israelite? This question is simply an idiotic question. Abraham was not an Israelite. Israelites were the real descendants of Abraham. Abraham’s grandson is called Israel. Abraham’s son inherited the true blessing from him and he gave the same blessing to Jacob, which Jacob got it through wrong way. But blessing will not be erased by God, and so his blessings got inherited to his children, the Israelites, since God changed his name Israel. “God said to him, your name is Jacob, but you will no longer be called Jacob; your name will be Israel. So he names him Israel” – Genesis 35: 10.

The inventions that changed the modern world are from Jews. The laser beam which works in DVD or for treatments was invented by a Jew. The life saver for heart patients, the pacemaker was developed by a Jew. The stainless steel vessels we use in kitchen, we should give thanks for a Jew who invented stainless steel. Albert Einstein, the man who made the formula Mass-Energy equivalence is also a Jew. The vaccines for Cholera, Polio and other plagues are being developed by Jews. The father of Atomic Bomb, Nuclear invention is a Jewish American. You can search in the google site for the list of inventions Jewish people have done, which through the world is blessed.

What more to say. Each and every one who use internet knows to search anything through Google. This same google was founded by Larry Page and Sergey Brin while the pair was attending Stanford University. Both these people, the founders are Jewish.

Still the person who does not considers the valid document from God, the Bible, is an idiot who is being trapped by the devil. All blessings and promises God have given to Israel is fulfilled and the world is witnessing it.

Same as stated in the Bible, the book of Isaiah and Jeramiah, Israel was torn by their enemies 2000 years ago. But the same God promised that he will set up Israel before his second coming. “The God of heaven will set up a kingdom that will never be destroyed, nor will it be left to another people” – Daniel 2: 44. For the last 68 years, the Arab countries which are around Israel tried to destroy them. But the creator of Heaven and Earth, as he promised gathered back the Jews and is protecting them from these nations which are against them. When war happens between Israel and other Arab nations, miracles happens as God miraculously protects his chosen children. Whenever a war happened, the causality from the side of Israel will be much less than from the other side, and more than that, this small state of Israel would have conquered the enemy territories most areas also.

“And I will make you a great nation, And I will bless you, And make your name great; And so you shall be a blessing; And I will bless those who bless you, And the one who curses you I will curse And in you all the families of the earth will be blessed” – Genesis 12: 2-3.

Prophet Isaiah who prophesised about Jerusalem’s fall also told that when God gathers Israel back, God himself will reign on Jerusalem with great glory. You can see how he is protecting Israel from the terrorist’s nearby them. For the last 8 years Hamas, the terriost organization are firing rockets on Jewish soil, but God is protecting them by providing wisdom to counter attack it. Even sometimes he is changing the direction of the rocket to the sea – testimony by the Hamas itself.

Oh I get excited when I read about what is happening in Israel and how God is ruling them. Even though they don’t accept Christ as their saviour, God is favouring them since he promised it. The God who created the heaven and Earth, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, the God who says he is who he is, is real and one day I have to face him for sure. It is a matter of decision if I need to be with him, or go away from him. If I want to be with him, simply accept Christ as my saviour and confess my sins and live holy. Other case is simply for my own destruction.

The choice is for you to take.

Plan for You

“For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future” – Jeremiah 29: 11.

Devil’s idea for everyone is to destroy them. The evil’s plan is to give disappointments. Failures, discouragements to a person who follows God so that the person will leave the mighty one. So each and every moment in a believer’s life will be a war against the worldly pleasures, lust and all the things which keeps him against the love of God. Prosperity is not a sin. But when a man leaves God and goes behind prosperity is sin as God has commanded us not to have any God or object other than him, or give importance more than him.

When you live a holy life, devil brings health problems, joblessness, or family problems into your life. His only intention is to lead you away from God as he did in the life of Job. Many Christians have lost their race of faith when trials and tribulations come into their life. They won’t be able to handle a sudden loss, or sudden failure. Whoever show patience in the time of trials and temptations will see the mighty blessing of God in their life. “Whoever is patient has great understanding, but one who is quick tempered displays folly” – Proverbs 14: 29.

When you accept Christ as your saviour, there is no need to have a tension about your life. God has a plan for you and the plan is to prosper you in everything. It doesn’t mean you sit simply and the plan will be fulfilled, but to work hard, not to have concerned about the future. When you go behind God your destiny will change and it will be safe in God’s hands. 

Have faith and believe in the word of God. Faith gets build more when you hear the word of God and accept it and claim it. Go and meditate on the word of God, accept it and claim it to see the light glowing in your life.

“Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see” – Hebrews 11:1.

Patience

In John 4:4-26 we see Jesus Christ talking to a Samaritan woman who came to draw water from the well. Jesus asked her water, but she was surprised how a Jew asked anything to Samaritans, since Samaritans were lower than Jews in cast. You can see in the end of the conversation Jesus telling those who drink the water he gave will never be thirsty and the woman replying to give her so that she won’t be thirsty and won’t need to come to get water. She did not understand what Jesus was saying so her immediate reply was this. 

She was interested in Jesus’s message because she thought it could make her life easier. Christ did not come to take away challenges, but to change us on the inside and to empower us to deal problems from God’s perspective. The woman did not immediately comprehend what Jesus was talking about, but she gradually understood. Jesus did not force her to make her understand. He knew the Holy Spirit will change her thinking and make her understand.

Patience should be shown to the evil also. When the devil try to take away you riches and blessings, show patience and prayerfully seek God. God will open new doors for you. He is a God who can create anything from nothing. You need to show patience. “Be still in the presence of the Lord, and wait patiently for him to act. Don’t worry about evil people who prosper or fret about their wicked schemes. Stop being angry! Turn from your rage! Do not lose your temper – it only leads to harm. For the wicked will be destroyed, but those who trust in the Lord will possess the land” – Psalm 37: 7-9.

Even the mighty God has patience in dealing us. The sins we do against him, he is slow to anger and if we confess our sins, he will forgive us. He patiently will wait for us to confess the sins, but if we don’t, the Judgement will come upon you. “The Lord is slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love, forgiving iniquity and transgression, but he will by no means clear the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children, to the third and fourth generation” – Numbers 14:18

I pray that you live a holy life, pleasing to God and have patience in your life so that your life will be a blessing to you as well as others.

Sowing Depth

Jesus Christ has said a parable about a sower. In that he mentions about a farmer going out to sow his seed. He mentions about the places where the seed falls when he scattered the seeds. In that only the ones which fell on good soil produced crop. Christ told this parable to teach about how the word is taken by different people. But in the mentioned parable we see, only the seeds which fell on the good soil produced crop. Same way there is certain things to do for some seeds before sowing or placing.

For some seeds to be planted, we provide spacing between individual seeds. Sometimes seeds will be sown into the soil by maintaining a planting depth of about 2-3 times the size of the seed. This is to make the seed grow better into the crop for better results.

As last month was a month of prayer for sowing, this month we concentrate of sowing in depth. Whatever you sow, better to sow in depth to earn better results. If you are trying for a changed life, go for a step head in trying to live holy. Of course we learn Christians are saved by grace, not by law. But if you are planning to live close with God, study the commandments deeply and try to obey, not to earn salvation, but to just sow in depth. Salvation is not earned; it is given by the grace of God. If you are sowing for financial results, go into deep the work which you are doing. If you are planning for a change in Job, learn some new fundamentals deeply before applying so that the deep knowledge you get will be able to reap results better.

You can see in the life of Job, when he had to go through all the tribulations, step by step he was improving his faith in God. Of course he questioned God, but after that even when his friends came against him, he showed the patience to listen them. Finally before getting the blessings back, he prayed for the same friends who were against him. It is not simple to pray wholeheartedly for someone who is against you. Job knew he was blameless and he knew what his friends pointing at him were not correct, or not true. But still he went in depth to show faithfulness to God by praying for them. (Job 42:10) The blessings he got were double of what he had.

We see this in the life of Apostle Paul. When Paul and Barnabas were at Lystra, some Jews came and stoned Paul and dragged him outside the city. They thought that he was dead. That means they had beaten him so badly. But the next day he went to Derbe to preach the word (Acts 14:19, 20). That was the commitment or in depth faithfulness to God, and as a result we, who are gentiles, came to know about the true God and are saved. The result is awesome.

I urge you to try whatever you are trying in a deeper way so that with the help and grace of God, you will accomplish more than what you thought of achieving. God bless you this month.
